I'm on my way to Austin for the Spartan Sprint. It should be a grand time! I can't promise I'll be posting much this weekend, because I won't be around a computer.
I'll be pretty busy this weekend, so it looks promising to have very little drinking. I'll let you know when I get back.

I keep forgetting to post... sorry
So not only does life get busy, but I also forget to post. I'm not used to blogging, and what little time I do have outside of work is usually spent on higher priority things.
This weekend I ran the Warrior Dash. And then drank too much. I know, I know. I'm not doing great on the reduced drinking, even if it was on a Saturday. It also caused the girlfriend and I to have a little discussion. I didn't do anything stupid, so don't worry there.
See, we were camping during the weekend so we would be near the event. So when I passed out after partying, she didn't really have another bed or couch to move to when I did the drunken sleep off. Apparently I rolled around too much, talked/yelled in my sleep too much, and other stuff. Essentially she said "I'm not sleeping next to you next time that happens." So now there's additional incentive to take it easy. I want her next to me.
Other than that and another minor discussion about how busy she is this week, it was a good weekend.
Yesterday was uneventful, and today/most of the rest of this week is going to be uneventful. I'll be running the Spartan Sprint in Austin, TX this weekend so that should be super awesome.

I've lost track of the day...
I apologize for not blogging of late. I keep forgetting to do it.
Things are going well. It's Thursday, and I'm going camping this weekend/running the Warrior Dash. So that should be fairly awesome.
I'll try to post from the campsite, but no promises.

Day 5: Saved by the girlfriend
I was well on my way to having a paced drinking day, taking care of the chores and what not. Out of the blue, I decided to text the girlfriend to see if she wanted to come over. Sure enough, she did. So rather than be a drunken idiot, I stopped drinking and sobered up.
I need more will power... she won't be here every Sunday for me to use as an excuse.

Day 4: The skip of Day 3
Sorry for the lack of publishing a post yesterday... I got caught up with video games.
All is well in the land. Last night went well, and today is going swimmingly.
Now back to my scheduled video games.

Day 2: The running, oh god the running.
Okay, so the title is a little bit melodramatic. Nothing really happened today. I did a boot camp style workout at lunch, and then went for a 4 mile run with the girlfriend after work. On my way home, I did pass by a liquor store and thought "Man, a cocktail would be nice."
Don't worry though. I just kept on my merry way, got home, ate, and showered. Now I'm puttering around until bed.
Tomorrow is going to be the start of the challenging time. It'll be Friday evening, and with the girlfriend going out of town I'll have nothing to do except entertain myself.

Day 1: Not a great start.
It seems kind of stupid to kick off a blog about curbing my drinking, and then go have a couple drinks. Sadly, that's what happened. Well, I guess it's not really sad considering that I didn't get hammered, drunk, smashed, out of hand, or anything like that.
The girlfriend and I went to a "bottling party" tonight at our local distillery. You sign up to volunteer, get contacted, and if you respond quickly enough you get to help bottle that week's batch of booze. Well, we get onto this week's batch. Part of the party is that they serve you cocktails, pizza halfway through the bottling, and a free fifth of that batch at the end.
So I had a couple drinks at this shindig. Nothing significant, but it's still kind of ironic considering the theme of this blog.
Oh well... tomorrow is a new day, and a new start.
